Dog's in the suburbs.
Last night while mom was watching TV, Buddy started doing that weird thing he does to his bones. He drops a bone, rolls onto his back, lays on the bone and with his legs in the air, starts making weird noises. He continued this for a while and I looked at mom and saw she was laughing. I had to ask myself.. Are we just here for her entertainment or is she here for ours?
When she made dinner last night she was playing music and dancing in the kitchen. She sang at the top of her lungs and danced like a fool. Buddy and I just laughed and sat watching her. Then I felt bad that I took such pleasure in her foolishness.
This morning, Mom took us for a long walk. We went early before the heat hit. 30 minutes into the walk, mom noticed we were panting and she made us walk in the street next to the sidewalk. All the water from the sprinklers had settled there and I ran along with my tongue out drinking as I went. Buddy didn't quite get it. He'd walk a few steps and then get back on the sidewalk. Not me. I danced and drank and pounced and splashed. It was delightful! Then I looked up and mom was laughing at me. At first I felt mad and thought about biting her and then it hit me.... it was funny and fun. I was entertaining myself. let her laugh. maybe we are just here to entertain each other. If our house is the circus, I'll take a clown nose.

Wednesday
Wow! How did so much time go by?? Mom was in Seattle all of last week and aunt rory wouldn't log me on the computer. I don't know the passwords so I was stuck waiting for mom to return.
Mom said she had a good week. It was cold up there. A high of 58 degrees. Then she got home and it's in the upper 90's. She came home with 4 lbs of coffee and talking non stop about roasting, cupping, sipping, coffee. Coffee, coffee, coffee. Then on Saturday she went to 2nd Saturday in downtown Sacramento. Said she saw her old friend Pat Grizzell. She doesn't think he has a dog :( Sunday was a little better. Aunt rory hung out all day and mom walked us for a really long walk. It's about time! Then Monday we got another walk. Yippee! Tuesday mom had to go to Fresno for a long meeting. She left home at 6 am and didn't get back till 8pm. Thank goodness Rory came back over or else we would have had a big puddle in the floor. Today was back to normal. Mom got home around 5:30 and she swears tomorrow will also be normal. We'll see. We did get a long walk the evening but not until 8pm. It was too hot earlier. Mom got really frustrated with Buddy. He was in a mood! He kept pulling and walking in the wrong direction and wrapping the leash around mom's legs. It was annoying for all of us. I told him if he didn't stop he would ruin if for everyone. But nooooooo... he just kept it up. I thought mom was going to strangle him. But she didn't. She did mutter that she's never walking us again but I know that's a lie. She'll forget by tomorrow and the leashes will come out.
Okay. That's the update. Sorry it's so late. I'll try to post again over the weekend.

another week
Hey!
Sorry I've been lagging on my post. The week just got away from me. Too much squirrell chasing and daily walks. Nothing too exciting to write about. Since last week.... Mom went to the movies "Sex & the City". She said every woman in Sacramento was there. Now she wants to go shoe shopping every day. Like she needs another pair of shoes. I think when you run out of room in the closet to put them that should be the first sign that you have too many. How many pairs can one person wear? Now, if she had 4 feet like I do, she'd get double the action. Then on Sunday she went to cousin Savannah's B-day party. The theme was Candy Land. I guess there was a jumpy house, cotton candy machine and spinny art. Aunt Jane wore her pink cotton candy wig. Mom wore new shoes!!! She called them her hooker shoes. Not really appropriate for an 11 year old Birthday party. But if that's what she wants.
Besides that, it's been the usually work, walk, food, sleep. Mom has kept her promise of a walk a day. A couple of been really long-- an hour, but then a few short- less than a half hour. I wish she'd make up her mind. Next week Mom is in Seattle all week. She leaves Monday and doesn't come back until Friday. What's to become of us??? Oh wait... Aunt Rory is staying the week. That means lot of Aunty lovin!
Okay. I'll write when something new happens. It's time to take a nap in the sun.
