So... it's been a pretty usual week. Walks most days and then it's the weekend! I always look forward to the weekend because we get longer walks and mom is home more. Saturday started off good. We went for a really long walk. It was 9:30 in the morning and already hot. what happened to that fall weather? It's been in the upper 90's for the past few days. Today it is suppose to hit 97! Yikes. Mom walked us for an hour. Our long 2.5 mile walk. Buddy almost dropped dead. By the end of that long walk he is just dragging. Then he comes home and lays on the tile in the front hall way panting for an hour. I, on the other hand, am still full of energy. Mom then cleaned up the poop in the back yard and fussed at us the whole time. We can't help it. She feeds us a lot. She counted and claimed there were 25 poops in just one week. That doesn't seem like too much. So that was the day. She did some other stuff like get her hair cut, go to target, go see Aunt Jane, etc. But none of that stuff that involved us.
So, this morning, we sleep late which was nice. I love sleeping late. I curl up next to mom and when she wakes up, I roll over to get my belly rubbed. It is nice:) We get up and Mom says we need to walk early before the heat starts and because she is going to the city with aunt Rory today. So out we go! We head to the park. We make one circle around the park and then mom decides to walk around the school and around the loop by Bel Air. Part way around, an Animal Service truck pulls up and the woman driving the truck ask if we've seen 2 big pit bulls. She said they've had 10 calls this morning that they are running lose in the neighborhood. What??!! The woman said they were last spotted in the park. Mom says no and the woman says to be careful and keep an eye out. So now mom gets scared. She says "We are going home" Of course we are like 4 blocks from home. So she makes us run. Did I mention that it is getting hot outside? Plus, Buddy is so interested in the squirrels that are out that he didn't hear a word the woman said. He is pulling mom's arms to chase squirrels and she is getting mad and yelling at him. That makes me crazy and I start jumping on her and now we are a big tangled mess. Finally we make it to our street. The dogs at the end of the block are barking like crazy. Mom is convinced it is because the "Wild Dogs" are down there getting them all worked up. So now she is running for the front door. The dogs are barking like crazy. Mom drops her keys and can't get the door open. It's just like one of those movies where the crazy woman can't get the door open and the murderer is right behind her. Mom always screams at those women. So mom tries to open the door with her car key and then realizes it's the wrong key. Meanwhile the dogs in the whole neighborhood are now barking and buddy and I are jumping on the door. Finally she opens the door and we all fall in and slam the door behind us. all 3 of us are panting and pressing up against the door. We look out the window and ..... nothing. There is a neighbor walking his 2 pugs which seems to be what is making all the other dogs crazy. No wild pit bulls. Mom is crazy! Now she says she buying pepper spray to protect us when we walk. I think she's going to end up pepper spraying herself.
At least we got a walk. Even if it was nuts.
Everything else is good here. Last week mom worked way too much. she swears that this week will be better. Balance, centering, etc. I'm going to bite her if she doesn't stick to it.
Gotta go. I might need to add a poop to the backyard.

Saturday morning
It Saturday! We had a good week and a great morning so far. Mom walked us everyday. Even one day that she got home late we still walked in the dark. Now that it's starting to get dark earlier it's tough to get those walks in. So on Wednesday she got home around 7pm. By the time she got her shoes on and changed the sun was setting. She said.. "come on you spoiled dogs" and off we went. It got dark as we were walking and it was interesting how quiet it seemed. No one else was out and it was just us walking quietly along. A couple of days we got a nice long walk and this morning we did our longest walk yet! Mom got up early and we left the house around 8am. We did our usual long weekend walk (2 miles) plus she added a little extra on. When we got home she mapped it out on Mapmyrun.com and saw that we had walked 2.52 miles. Hows that!! I won't be a fat sausage dog for long. Mom made us listen to the sounds of the morning again. She's all into that crap. I heard some birds and dogs and fountains and cars and a siren. That's it. I'm not sure what she's trying to hear but it ain't that interesting. She said it makes her happy to hear the morning. What the??? We did see a really cool spider web. It must have been 3 feet wide and perfectly round and in the exact middle was a giant spider. It looked totally cool but I would not want to get caught in that web. The rest of the day mom says she cleaning out the garage. I guess there is a method to her madness. She says the garage must come first so that then the stuff in the office can move out there and then the office can get painted and set up. The garage is this weekend. Painting is next weekend and then the following weekend is the set up. If it all goes as planned on Monday Oct. 6th... Mom will have an actual office. After 16 months of officing in the dinning room. Then she says we are re-decorating the dinning room. Why oh why do we need to do that.
I updated the blog this morning. Do you like it? I changed the layout and the colors. I thought it needed to be more fall looking. After all summer ends this week and fall begins. I also played with a couple of photo's. I did the special effects on one of mine and made it a cartoon photo and then made Buddy's sepia toned. He looks kind of old fashion so I thought it fit him. Mom says we'll take the camera on our walk tomorrow and take some photo's of our sights. Just in case you want to see what we see.
More later. The yard guys are here. I need to bark.

2nd Saturday
Hey! So, I said I would update the blog more often and I'm trying to stick with it.
It was a pretty good weekend. Actually it was a pretty good week. Mom's centering work is going well. She hasn't fallen over yet.... ha ha. She went to Yoga on Monday and then on Tuesday she went to some lecture by a Buddhist monk on yoga. She was out late. Said it was pretty good but too long. He lectured on finding happiness by trying to create happiness for others, mediation and the evils of TV. Supposedly we all watch way too much TV. The average American watches 4 hours a day which equals 9 years of an average lifetime. What's wrong with that? I've seen a lot of great dog shows on TV. Plus the new season is getting ready to start which means mom will be home a lot more watching. We love that! When mom watches TV we get to lay next to her on the sofa.
Besides the yoga, she got a pedicure with aunt Rory one day and then on Friday we took Buddy to the vet. He was getting his teeth cleaned. I was so happy that I wasn't involved in this activity. We took him there and left him. At first I was really unhappy to be home without him. Even though he bugs me... I miss that ugly face when it's not around. Then mom went out mid day and left me home all by myself for 2 hours. I was not happy. When she returned she had him with her. I was mad at him! I barked and growled and smelled and barked some more. He was all sleepy. His eyes were half closed and his leg was shaved. mom kept making over him like he had been gone for a year. She held him and babied him and acted like I wasn't even there. Maybe I do want to get my teeth cleaned next time.
The next morning buddy was fine and we all went for a very long walk. The really long, one hour walk. It was fabulous. It was 7:30 on a Saturday morning and there was hardly anyone out. a few joggers but that is it. It was nice and quiet. we heard the birds and a dog bark in the distance and a fountain running. It was really peaceful. Then mom went to work for a few hours. When she got home she was crazy with cleaning for about 30 minutes and then.... company showed up. Jayne and Ryan which are 2 friends from work. They came up for 2ND Saturday. They left us at home, again, and went downtown. Draw Pinky was playing some crazy circus show and they were out super late. I think it was after 11pm when they came home. Doesn't mom know she's too old for that. Her friends seem nice but Buddy was very rude. This morning he kept humping them. He wouldn't stop! Mom tried everything and he just kept going back. What is wrong with that dog? Mom said she is going to cut his humper off..... which I thought already happened.
The rest of the day has been great. Laying around, sleeping, reading- that's mom not me. I haven't really learn to turn the pages of books yet, and eating. The perfect life. Why can't everyday be like this?
Okay. More later.

Updates
Wow! I have gotten lazy. I thought I was keeping up with the blog but time has slipped by again.
Okay... here are all of the update, quick and simple.
Momma Renee came back for a long weekend visit. We all went to the vet. Not my best day. I had a shot and blood taken and had to step on the scale. The vet said I was fat. She actually said I was a little sausage. Now mom is measuring out my food. What???? That's not fair. No one weighs out her food and calls her fat. Then momma Renee left and kissed us all over and said she'd see us soon. When?? We miss her.
Then the next weekend, mom took us back to the vet but this time she left us. It turns out they have a groomer. I just got a bath but Buddy got bathed and trimmed. I have to say he looks pretty good. I can't tease him anymore about his skirt. Plus he smells delicious! I keep smelling him. I've tried really hard to not pee on his head all week. So far so good.
Now mom says that we have one more trip to the vet planned for next week. Something about Buddy getting his teeth cleaned. I'm glad it's not me.
Besides that we've gotten back into the swing of our daily walk. This week we walked everyday but one. This morning we walked for an hour! It was fabulous. But the weather has been hot. In the 100's all week. I thought it was fall. didn't Labor day just happen??
Mom has been running on that moving walk way this week. She also went back to Yoga. Good. She needs to lose a couple of lbs. Today she is shopping for a bike. Her theme for the month is Centered. She said she is working on getting centered?? what the heck does that mean. She doesn't seem to be leaning or anything. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.
Okay. I have to chase a squirrel or growl at something. I have an image to keep up.
