Crazy mom

So... it's been a pretty usual week. Walks most days and then it's the weekend! I always look forward to the weekend because we get longer walks and mom is home more. Saturday started off good. We went for a really long walk. It was 9:30 in the morning and already hot. what happened to that fall weather? It's been in the upper 90's for the past few days. Today it is suppose to hit 97! Yikes. Mom walked us for an hour. Our long 2.5 mile walk. Buddy almost dropped dead. By the end of that long walk he is just dragging. Then he comes home and lays on the tile in the front hall way panting for an hour. I, on the other hand, am still full of energy. Mom then cleaned up the poop in the back yard and fussed at us the whole time. We can't help it. She feeds us a lot. She counted and claimed there were 25 poops in just one week. That doesn't seem like too much. So that was the day. She did some other stuff like get her hair cut, go to target, go see Aunt Jane, etc. But none of that stuff that involved us.
So, this morning, we sleep late which was nice. I love sleeping late. I curl up next to mom and when she wakes up, I roll over to get my belly rubbed. It is nice:) We get up and Mom says we need to walk early before the heat starts and because she is going to the city with aunt Rory today. So out we go! We head to the park. We make one circle around the park and then mom decides to walk around the school and around the loop by Bel Air. Part way around, an Animal Service truck pulls up and the woman driving the truck ask if we've seen 2 big pit bulls. She said they've had 10 calls this morning that they are running lose in the neighborhood. What??!! The woman said they were last spotted in the park. Mom says no and the woman says to be careful and keep an eye out. So now mom gets scared. She says "We are going home" Of course we are like 4 blocks from home. So she makes us run. Did I mention that it is getting hot outside? Plus, Buddy is so interested in the squirrels that are out that he didn't hear a word the woman said. He is pulling mom's arms to chase squirrels and she is getting mad and yelling at him. That makes me crazy and I start jumping on her and now we are a big tangled mess. Finally we make it to our street. The dogs at the end of the block are barking like crazy. Mom is convinced it is because the "Wild Dogs" are down there getting them all worked up. So now she is running for the front door. The dogs are barking like crazy. Mom drops her keys and can't get the door open. It's just like one of those movies where the crazy woman can't get the door open and the murderer is right behind her. Mom always screams at those women. So mom tries to open the door with her car key and then realizes it's the wrong key. Meanwhile the dogs in the whole neighborhood are now barking and buddy and I are jumping on the door. Finally she opens the door and we all fall in and slam the door behind us. all 3 of us are panting and pressing up against the door. We look out the window and ..... nothing. There is a neighbor walking his 2 pugs which seems to be what is making all the other dogs crazy. No wild pit bulls. Mom is crazy! Now she says she buying pepper spray to protect us when we walk. I think she's going to end up pepper spraying herself.
At least we got a walk. Even if it was nuts.
Everything else is good here. Last week mom worked way too much. she swears that this week will be better. Balance, centering, etc. I'm going to bite her if she doesn't stick to it.
Gotta go. I might need to add a poop to the backyard.
