What is going on? Mom says she's leaving for 8 days. Actually she danced around and sang something about leaving on a jet plane. She's not even taking us. That's just not fair. She says she's going to see Aunt Michelle and Uncle Jeff and Cousins Brooke, Connor and Allie. What will we do? How will we survive?
I'm guessing Aunt Rory is coming over to stay with us but mom also said something about a surprise visitor arriving tonight. Wonder who it is?
Not much else going on. Last week mom had her bookgroup meet here. It was okay. There were 12 noisy and loud women in the house. I didn't like it so much. But, I just stayed away from them. Of course Buddy had to try to get to know everyone a bit too much. He is such an embarssment. Then on Saturday Mom went to the movies and went in search of the perfect burger. I guess her and cousin John have started a blog about searching for the perfect burger. How do I get part of that action?
Not much else happening. Mom finally got her camera fixed. So, I'm posting a few older photo's just so folks to see what's been going on this Summer.

grooming
Today we went to the groomers. Mom said it was required because my head had been peed on one to many times. That's not my fault. Buddy seems to always pee on me. I will admit that sometimes I'm quick to stick my head down there to see what he's doing or to smell whatever it is that he is peeing on. You would think he would just hold it until I'm done smelling. But no....
The groomer wasn't so bad. I heard her tell mom that we were great and really sweet. Mom said... Really? SHe seemed so surprise. Excuse me? we are sweet.
The week was pretty good. We got a walk everyday which is always nice. Mom is promising 2 miles tomorrow. I love the two mile walk.
I love going on long walks.
I love sleeping in the sun spot
I love snuggling up to mom at night.
I hate when I think we are going for a walk but it turns out that only mom is going out.
I hate when mom plays loud music and dances. It makes me crazy.
I hate when squirrels run in front of us during our walk. Buddy goes nuts.

sorry
Wow! Where did the time go? Somehow 2 and a half months flew by and I didn't post crap! Sorry about that. I feel like I've let down all of my fans. It's been a busy couple of months. Lot's of dog walks. We actually were on a roll for a while and getting a walk every single day. But these last 2 weeks it's been really, really hot so we've skipped a couple of days. Mom has been busy, busy, busy. Last week she went to the Harry Potter mid-night movie. I was like.. what the heck. You are way too old to go to a mid-night movie. That is for young people. But she went anyway. She said it was totally worth the loss of sleep. She's had a few party invitations over the past month and went to 2ND Saturday last week. Overall, a pretty good summer. I'd be happy with her staying home a bit more. I feel like we haven't had the mother-dog time we deserve. I promise I will start posting more. Mom's camera has been broken lately so that's why the photo's are updating. She says it will be fixed very soon. Ha. She's been saying that for a while.
I think I'll go back to posting my hates and loves. that gives me something to think about during my walks. Or... maybe I create a few new poems. Or... maybe I start a little short story to post each time. Wow. The possibilities are endless.

May 1st
Doesn't the poem go.. April Showers bring May flowers?? Well, it May 1st and it's raining. That's pretty unusual for this time of year. Of course heavy rain means no walk. that's a drag ;(
Plus, mom is sick. She has a cold or a sinus infection or swine flu or something. She just doesn't feel good. Her throat and ears and head. I'm hoping tomorrow is better-- no rain and no sickness. Plus, I hear that Savannah Rose is spending the night tomorrow night. Aunt Jane and Uncle Jack have their show going on and JH has a friend spending the night. We love when Savannah visits. I hear that Oma and Opa Kennedy are coming to visit for 2 WEEKS! wow. That is a lot of time for me to bark at opa. it makes him so mad.
okay. that's pretty much it. We had company at the house the last 2 weekends. Mom's friends coming to visit to see the Draw pinky thing. Why don't they allow dogs to those things??

it feels like summer
So, this morning we went for a long, long walk. 2.5 miles to be exact. Mom said we should go early in the day instead of wait for the evening since it is suppose to hit the mid 80's today. Off we go at 10am. About half way through the walk, I was burning up! It felt like 90. Of course, I am very smart and whenever there is water in the ditch from the sprinklers, I walk in the ditch and drink and splash along. then when there isn't water in the ditch, I walk in the yards that are still wet from the sprinklers. Buddy is not so smart. he just pants away as he walks on the hot sidewalk. Finally mom stopped under a tree so that we could cool down. I rolled around in the grass. when I got up I was soaked. It felt great. Buddy finally drank some ditch water. I know it sounds nasty but it's just water. Then we got home and mom started cleaning. It's about time. this house is a mess. I don't think she's done anything since her big party last month. the dog hair is building up. Plus tonight we have company. I guess the next few weeks will be like a bed and breakfast here. Tonight it's Spencer and barbara who are driving up to see the big Draw Pinky production. then next weekend it's Jayne and ryan and then we have a free weekend. After that Oma and Opa come out for 2 weeks. Wow! It will be nice to have company with me during the day. I'll bark at Opa everyday just to piss him off.
Not much else happening. Mom is shopping for a bike. She's been saying that for 4 weeks now. we'll see if she actually buys one.
I'll write more later and let everyone know how the company is going.

Spring has sprung!
Wow! I have not been good at updating this blog. It has been a couple of crazy weeks and somehow I just never logged on. Mom kept us busy! I've probably lost half of my fan base to facebook or twitter or something. Okay, so here is what's been happening.
Last Saturday was Mom's big party. The 2 weeks before were all about getting the house ready. Lot's of cleaning, decorating and even some painting. I have to say it looked pretty darn good. The day of the party, everything without a home... went to the garage. The garage looks worse than ever! Luckily no one saw the garage. Then, the really bad thing happened. Mom took Buddy and I to the kennel for the night. I couldn't believe it. She said we just wouldn't enjoy all of those people. She is probably right but I was still upset. We haven't been in the kennel is years. She tried to tell us it was a hotel but even Buddy isn't that stupid. When we came home the next day the house wasn't nearly as clean and mom was exhausted. So this week she spent the whole week recovering. Plus, this was the week with her Fresno meeting and you know what that means. A 14 hour day. 6 hours of driving and 8 in meetings. Aunt Rory came over and let us out. THEN on Friday she had some silly work thing that required her to be at a store at 3:50am! The alarm went off at 2:30 and I just assumed it was a mistake. Even when I heard her showering... I assumed I was dreaming. And then she pushed me off the bed and made me go outside to pee. Okay.. I don't usually pee at 3am. It is dark and cold outside. But I'm glad I did. She left right after that and didn't get home until 2pm in the afternoon. That is a long day!
Now for the good news that involves Buddy and I. We've had walks almost everyday for the past 3 weeks. I think one day was skipped due to rain and then the meeting day in Fresno was skipped. All other,we went out! The weather is perfect. 70's in the day. Perfect weather to lay in the back yard and sun yourself. Which is what I've been doing. I love spring! Mom's been sneezing but she's taking some new allergy stuff that seems to help. I love smelling the flowers and having new plants to pee on. I just want to skip when we go outside. Don't tell anyone that I just said that. Especially not buddy.
I have a bad feeling about today. I heard mom on the phone and I think I overheard the word "grooming". I am not having a bath today! You can't make me.

March showers
How's that old saying... March showers bring May flowers?? I think it's really April but we've had a bunch of showers the last 2 days so I'm changing it to March.
I can't believe Feb. is over with. Sorry I didn't write more. Not sure what really happened. Time just slipped by. Last week was a tough week. First- Mom was gone 2 nights to Fresno. Yuck. We hate that. But, Aunt Rory stayed with us which was nice. But, she doesn't give walks so that wasn't so nice. Plus it rained most days. Our backyard is all muddy :( Then on Friday night mom went to a spaghetti dinner at the School for Savannah Rose. The band played a few songs and Savannah even sang with them. I hear she was great but Mom didn't take us.
The Sunday before that was the Oscars. The Hastings and Rory came over and we all settled down for an evening of beautiful dresses and awards. The show was pretty good. I'd give it 5 paws out of 5. The only thing lacking was a few dogs to liven things up.
Now for my complaint of the week (I've decided I'll post a new complaint every week.)
Mom needs to stop complaining about picking the poop up in the backyard. Every Saturday she complains as she walks around with her bag. She even counts them! She can't seem to understand how there can be so much poop when we get walked most days and there is always 1-2 poops on the walk. Typically she'll pick up 20-30 piles and complain that she picked up 10 more on walks. So... do you hear me complaining about how much she poops? Noooo. That is her business. It just so happens that I have a sensitive system. Sometimes a boy has to poop 3-4 times a day. Who cares.
Okay. I'll post again on the weekend. This should be a good week because Mom is home every night. Hooray!

Love and all that junk....
Here are my thoughts on Valentines day---
Mom won't give me chocolate. she gave us a bone this morning and said Happy Valentines day. I want chocolate.
Mom didn't buy us a card. She rubbed my belly and said it was a homemade card full of love. What??? there was no card involved. I wanted one of those that played music so that i could dance.
Mom didn't buy us flowers. She said they were too expensive and we wouldn't appreciate them. I love flowers! I like to smell them and lick them. She wore flowered PJ's this morning and said that was close enough.
But... mom did say she loved us and she'd be our valentine. So, I guess it's not all bad. Plus she promised a long, long walk unless it rains. Let's get going.

Bowl time!
Today is a the big day. It's Bowl time. That's the Puppy Bowl on the Animal channel I'm referring to in case you were wondering. That's what we are watching all day. Those little guys are so cute I can hardly stand it. I try to act like I'm not watching it because I do have a reputation to uphold but in truth, I can't take my eyes off them.
Not too much else going on. We have some beautiful weather these days. it's probably 60 something today. Mom took us for a long walk. The 2 miler. Love that walk. Lately she's been walking us and then coming home and pulling out that stupid treadmill. She has a half marathon in a little over a month so she had better get moving. She's only up to 5 miles and she needs to hit 13. I'm not dragging her sorry butt across the finish line.
This week was pretty good. We got walked everyday. Not too bad. Mom was out a few nights. Dinner with a friend downtown on Friday, dinner with the Hastings on Wednesday, dinner with Jane on Saturday. That's a lot of dinner. No wonder her pants aren't fitting.
Mom was all stressed earlier in the week about her job. The economy is taking a hit on the coffee business. Folks are cutting back. I think they need to drink more coffee because it will make them feel better and work faster. But who listens to me.
Okay.... those puppies are calling

Sunday evening
I do love Sundays. Something about them just feels calming. No work. Of course, I don't really work much during the week but mom does.
I think it's been a little over a week since I wrote. Not too much happening. A couple of good things and a couple of bad things. We'll start with the bad;
It rained! I know the rain is good for the grass and all that crap but it means no walks for us. I hate that. It rained 3 days this week. Mom was like "I'm not going out in the mess.... yada, yada, yada." What does she think she's made of ... Sugar? I can tell you she's not. So, we didn't get walks half of the week and she seems to think she made it up to us today by doing a really long walk. No such luck. Buddy and I keep count of how many days we sit at home. Well, at least I do. He has trouble counting. The other bad thing is that mom went out a couple of nights. She doesn't have a life!! why is she going out? One night it was a poetry reading and one night a movie. Then tonight she's going to aunt Jane's house. She says she's tired of sitting home all the time. Well EXCUSE ME! We like her to sit at home.
Now for the good stuff... Mom was all excited this week for the new president. She did the happy dance so that made us happy. also, Momma Renee sent us presents! There was a toy that looks like a tick. Mom pulled it out of the box and I grabbed it! Then she pulled out one that looks like a flea. Buddy grabbed it. Now, we all know that buddy doesn't even like toys. He just grabbed it because he wanted me to chase him. So to make him happy I did. Then I grabbed the toy and started squeaking it. So then he ran and grabbed the other toy. This time I didn't fall for his ploy. I let him have it. Sure enough in a couple of minutes he grew tired of it. He rolled on his back on top of it and grunted a bunch like a lunatic. then he lost interest and went to sit in the window and bark at the squirrels. I now have both toys! my plan worked. AND they have squeakers in them. I love the squeaker. I squeaked for a few hours until mom said she was losing her mind and made me stop. Sorry.
So that was most of the week. Mom's been hitting the movies trying to get ready for the Oscars. She saw Doubt, Slumdog Millionaire, the Reader and Milk. She said they were all good but she still has a few more on her list. I still think Marley and Me should have been nominated for something. Maybe best actor for Marley :)
Okay. I gotta go bug Buddy.

Hump day
It's Wednesday. Hump day. I think everyday is hump day for Buddy. ha ha. Our last week was pretty good. We got a walk 5 of the 7 days. and this week we've walked everyday. I love it! So lets see what's going on.... Mom has been using that treadmill everyday. Tonight she went 3 miles on it. I find it incredibly boring. Who enjoys running in the living room? Why not run outside? Sasha came up to visit on Saturday. Her and mom sat around and watched movies and ate scones. Yum. Then on Sunday mom went to dinner with the Hastings. It was JH's B-Day this last week. He is 15 years old! Holy cow that's old.
Today in the park we had a little excitement. There's this beagle who lives down the street named Patrick. Patrick is super loud. Whenever he sees us he starts to howl. i mean really howl. You've never heard such a loud noise. Patrick can't be much bigger than Buddy but he sounds like he's giant. Once about 6 months ago he got off his leash and ran at us. Buddy ran around mom's legs and got her all tangled and I pulled out of my collar and took off. Not that I was scared. I just didn't want to hurt him. Then the next time we saw him, mom thought it might be a good idea if we all smelled each other. But I got a little snippy and then Patrick got a little snippy. After that, mom and Patrick's mom decided we shouldn't be near each other. Now when we see him, we go the other way. But this evening we were in the park and it was getting kind of dark. all of a sudden we heard Patricks mom calling him. Sure enough he had gotten off the leash and was running towards us. But this time mom bent down and started saying "hey sweet boy". I was like... what are you doing? Don't be nice to that boy! But Patrick ran up and then he and Buddy sniffed each other. I ran up to mom because I didn't want to rip his neck open. Patrick and Buddy circled each other and then ... Patrick took off towards his mom. Chicken little! I showed him.
So that's the excitement. the weather has been pretty nice. It was 60 today. It felt like spring. I don't think much else is happening this week. The house is a mess so hopefully there is some house cleaning on the agenda.

January
It's January 3rd 2009! I do love a new year. it makes me reflective. I'm a dog who likes to set goals for each year and then really work to reach them. Let's see... here are some of my goals for 2009
- Bark for 20 minutes non stop each day at the mailman.
- Sleep past 7am each morning.
- Don't get out of bed when mom does each morning. Make her come back to the bedroom to check on me.
- bark at mom when she comes home from work until she takes us for a walk.
- Take the time to enjoy our daily walks. Look at the birds and the squirrels.
That should do it. Mom is all about exercise, weight loss, finances, yada, yada yada. Who cares about those things. What is really important is the time we get to spend with her. I think the goal for 2009 is to spend more time with the people we love.
Yikes... I can't believe I just said something so sappy. it makes me want to bite someone.
Quick update for everyone-- Mom took a 2 day trip to Las Vegas for New Years. She met up with her friend Sasha and they stayed up late each night eating and drinking and gambling. She came home late last night and she looked tired. I mean really tired. Today she just laid around most of the day. It is suppose to be the day to take down all the Christmas decoration but she only made it through one room. She still hasn't gotten to the tree. At this rate we'll have the tree up for Valentines day. Aunt Rory stayed with us while mom was gone. that's always good.
this week things get back to normal. Hopefully. Mom said there will be no more sweets, cookies, candy or junk food. We are going on a salad, veggie diet. Yuck. Plus that stupid treadmill is coming out again. We'll see how long it last.
Happy 2009 everyone!
Sonny

Sonny
