Sunday evening

I do love Sundays. Something about them just feels calming. No work. Of course, I don't really work much during the week but mom does.
I think it's been a little over a week since I wrote. Not too much happening. A couple of good things and a couple of bad things. We'll start with the bad;
It rained! I know the rain is good for the grass and all that crap but it means no walks for us. I hate that. It rained 3 days this week. Mom was like "I'm not going out in the mess.... yada, yada, yada." What does she think she's made of ... Sugar? I can tell you she's not. So, we didn't get walks half of the week and she seems to think she made it up to us today by doing a really long walk. No such luck. Buddy and I keep count of how many days we sit at home. Well, at least I do. He has trouble counting. The other bad thing is that mom went out a couple of nights. She doesn't have a life!! why is she going out? One night it was a poetry reading and one night a movie. Then tonight she's going to aunt Jane's house. She says she's tired of sitting home all the time. Well EXCUSE ME! We like her to sit at home.
Now for the good stuff... Mom was all excited this week for the new president. She did the happy dance so that made us happy. also, Momma Renee sent us presents! There was a toy that looks like a tick. Mom pulled it out of the box and I grabbed it! Then she pulled out one that looks like a flea. Buddy grabbed it. Now, we all know that buddy doesn't even like toys. He just grabbed it because he wanted me to chase him. So to make him happy I did. Then I grabbed the toy and started squeaking it. So then he ran and grabbed the other toy. This time I didn't fall for his ploy. I let him have it. Sure enough in a couple of minutes he grew tired of it. He rolled on his back on top of it and grunted a bunch like a lunatic. then he lost interest and went to sit in the window and bark at the squirrels. I now have both toys! my plan worked. AND they have squeakers in them. I love the squeaker. I squeaked for a few hours until mom said she was losing her mind and made me stop. Sorry.
So that was most of the week. Mom's been hitting the movies trying to get ready for the Oscars. She saw Doubt, Slumdog Millionaire, the Reader and Milk. She said they were all good but she still has a few more on her list. I still think Marley and Me should have been nominated for something. Maybe best actor for Marley :)
Okay. I gotta go bug Buddy.
Sonny.
